A design service is available where clients often deal directly with the goldsmith who will make their bespoke piece. Working closely with clients, whether to create a truly unique special piece from new or existing jewellery or renovating or restoring treasured vintage jewellery, Michael Platt brings value and care to each and every job they undertake, as well as to their clients.
Whether you have a clear vision or need expert guidance, we will discuss your ideas, budget, gemstones, metal choice, setting, and style to create a piece that is uniquely yours. From the agreed brief, detailed drawings are prepared to bring your bespoke jewellery to life.
Please note: Bespoke pieces are crafted exclusively in gold and platinum.
We carefully source high-quality gemstones and diamonds through our trusted supplier network, ensuring exceptional quality and value. You will have the opportunity to view the selected stones and designs, make any final adjustments, and approve the details before your bespoke piece is created.
Approve final details, design and necessary materials required for the piece. Confirm price and delivery date (once instructed, on average, a bespoke piece will take between three & six weeks to complete). To bring your creation to life, we require a 50% deposit.
Your piece is carefully crafted using traditional hand-carving or precise CAD design, depending on the chosen method. Where appropriate, you can view the wax model or review the CAD design before production.
Once cast, your piece can be viewed and fitted in its raw state before the gemstones are set. Finally, it is expertly set, polished, and sent to the Assay Office for hallmarking.
The final visit is always a very special, rewarding experience. It is joyful and satisfying for us to be able to present a piece of jewellery that has been created directly with client input, is meaningful and will become treasured and much loved.
