General and complex Jewellery Repairs are completed on site in our own workshop. Repairs such as ring sizing, re-tipping stone claws, re-rhodium plating, general cleaning and polishing, general breakage, stone replacement, gemstone re-polishing, building up of worn parts and links, chain repairs are undertaken.

We restore damaged or worn jewellery pieces or advise on the feasibility of the restoration. In some cases, it may be more beneficial to ‘re-design’ or completely re-make rather than restore. Delicate/complex jobs are often successfully undertaken which other workshops have refused to undertake. Restoration to small ‘objets d’art’ may be possible as well.

It is important that your jewellery is adequately insured. It is recommended that jewellery is valued for insurance purposes every two years or so. Fluctuations in the value of precious metals, diamonds and gemstones are often influenced by world events as well as supply and demand. Any increases (or decreases), therefore, are not usually linked to any economic or consumer price index. Items for valuation are fully inspected and assessed, with all stone settings checked. A written valuation with full item description is prepared. The fee charged is 1% of the total value of all items valued, with a minimum charge of £25. Valuations can be obtained for both modern and antique jewellery. Valuations can also be prepared for Probate and Divorce

We offer an in-house restringing service and recommend that pearls are regularly restrung whether or not they show wear. The silk thread used for stringing pearls is liable to stretch and fray and this is not always obvious. We also restring beads and hold a selection of new clasps.

Insurance Replacement

We are able to assist with your jewellery replacement should you be in a situation which necessitates a claim. We are able to offer a typed ‘Estimate for Replacement’ which can be presented to your insurance company and can offer some guidance when making an insurance claim. There may be an administration charge for this service
